It's been quiet on this front for a while — only because we've been hard at work behind the scenes. Today we're proud to unveil the biggest update the galaxy has seen: new systems for combat, ship design, research, and empire management, all rebuilt from the ground up.

Tactical Combat, Reimagined
Battles are no longer resolved in an instant. Step onto a hexagonal battlefield where every ship module — cannons, shields, engines, sensors — acts as its own combat unit with hit points, shields, action points, and a unique skill. Move your ships, fire your weapons, activate abilities like ionization, jamming, or emergency hyperspace jumps, and outmaneuver your enemy turn by turn. Initiative decides who strikes first — plan carefully, commander.

Design Your Own Ships
The shipyard just became a design studio. In the new Ship Constructor, drag modules straight from your planet's hangar onto a build grid around your ship's core and assemble a vessel that's truly yours. Live stats — armor, shields, damage, speed, cargo — update as you build, and for the first time, your ship's appearance in the galaxy reflects exactly what you built: weapons in red, engines in cyan, shields in blue, cargo in brown. No two fleets need look alike again.

The Research Tree Has Grown
Forget flat lists — technology now unfolds as a full tech tree spanning Energy, Computers, Armor, and Weapons, branching into advanced fields like Lasers, Shields, Hyperspace Drives, Plasma, Gravity Tech, and Psi Tech. Prerequisites, lock states, and live progress are all visible at a glance. Pan, zoom, and plan your empire's future.

Your Empire, Your Identity
The new Empire Hub brings everything about your civilization into one place. Design a custom flag for your empire — pick colors and layered shapes and watch it come to life on canvas. Manage your species' traits, keep an eye on diplomatic relations, and shape your empire's politics and ethics, all from a single, unified window.

Know What's Happening
A new Activity log keeps a running feed of everything affecting your empire — attacks, colonizations, and more — updating live so you're never out of the loop.

A Fresh Look, A Smoother Start
The whole interface has been redesigned: a cleaner top bar, a reorganized planets & fleets panel, and a planet management window with a live-rendered preview of each world and its shipyard queue. New commanders will also find a redesigned, step-by-step tutorial to help them find their footing among the stars.
